Hello Visitors! Okay, I totally suck at introductions (and that’s nothing new) but WELCOME, WELCOME!
I just joined Love-A-Thon hosted by Alexa (Alexa Loves Books),
Cee (The Novel Hermit), Hazel (Stay Bookish) and Mel (The Daily Prophecy).
It’s my first time to participate in this annual event so I’m really excited for the activities and all. Anyway, I don’t really know where to go from here so I’ll make it easy for everyone. Basically this post is all about me. HAHA. Kidding! Well, just read along and then you judge. Maybe we have something in common, eh?
❤
1. What’s your name?
Hi! My name is Hazel Beatrice. But you can just call me Bea. 🙂
2. Where in the world are you blogging from?
Right about here… 13.0000° N, 122.0000° E *whispers The Philippines* 😉
3. How did you get into blogging in the first place?
Hmmm, I actually wrote about it. It’s a good thing I did for questions like this. HA-HA. So if you really want to know, you can just read it here. <- YOU WOULD WANT TO READ IT. Or not.
4. How did you come up with your blog name?
It’s kind of a silly story, but here it goes. I created this blog just last year so when it came to naming my blog, I keep coming up with something that already sounds like someone else’s blog, and it was like all the cool names have been taken already. But after a whole lot of thinking (prolly about 15 minutes of thinking) I came up with Bea Learns To Read because I wanted something “original” and something that says “me”. But it wasn’t final at that time since I have to consider the URL as well. I wasn’t sure with using Bea because bealearnstoread.wordpress.com looks like Beal Earns To Read (or it’s just me) but if I used my first name Hazel, the double Ls (hazellearnstoread) might become to confusing and I don’t really use Hazel that much. So my last option was to use Beatrice. And again, I had something to consider with using Beatrice, wanna guess what? Well, I though Beatrice was too long!
And that’s the story of how I over analyze things. LOL.
Anyway, the reason why I chose Beatrice Learns To Read as my blog name is because I really didn’t like reading before. I just like looking at pictures or I just skip to the ending whenever I have a book on my hands. I have never actually “read” a book. So finally!
5. What genre do you read and review the most on your blog?
Wait let me check. Okay, first of all, I am your contemporary girl. I’m a lover of swoon-y reads with a realistic appeal. But I’m surprised to see that I have read and reviewed fantasy books more than contemporaries! See what book blogging can do to a reader? 😉
6. What other types of posts do you do on your blog, apart from reviews?
Not really much. For my 1st year of blogging, I just sticked to book reviews. But I also have some other features like a monthly post of my most anticipated reads and also, author interviews which I love doing. I just love reading their answers and knowing more than just the book they’ve written.
But watch out for something new that I’ll be launching on my blog soon!
7. Best blogging experience so far?
Being able to meet a lot of authors. Even if I haven’t met anyone personally yet, seeing them respond to tweets and messages, and even interview some is such a great accomplishement as a blogger.
8. Favorite thing about the blogging community?
Seeing the different opinions of readers toward a book.

I didn’t have the Rock Angelz doll but I had the game on PS2 and the OST is constantly playing in the background and I still can’t get them out of my head. Bratz forever. xD Thanks for dropping by, Sara!

YASS! Naming a blog can get really frustrating! I noticed we both love contemporary fiction. We don’t need to torment ourselves when it comes to world-building but I’m starting to get into fantasy too, since the latter has a lot of new things to offer. Great post, Bea! 🙂

Thank you, Giselle! I totally agree with getting into fantasy. I mean, everything YA is just amazing in their own way and we can’t deny them the chance of a read, regardless of the genre! Contemporaries may be no. 1 in my heart but I’m really open to anything. 🙂

Throne of Glass & Vengeance Road are amazing reads, and I’m excited for you to get to them! I also found naming my blog hard, which is why mine is just a simple (and true) statement 😉 Glad you could join us, Bea, and happy love-a-thon!

AHAHA I love how you supplied longitude/latitude coordinates 🙂 Creative way to answer it! 🙂
And yep you have to read Throne of Glass! I think you’ll still like it, because although it’s fantasy, it is a swoonish read, with Chaol and Dorian as love interests – they’re both swoony guys! 😀
I also like buying food ❤ ^_^ Wish I thought of that answer when I did the questionnaire! 🙂
